Triphasics paintings

Sérgio Prata is the creator of the 3 phases paintings, a new procedure of painting. The artist works in the darkness and under ultraviolet lights, at night. His paintings can be seen at different lights, so each canvas has 3 different works on it.

In october 1996, Sérgio Prata painted the 2 phases Pantocrator at Santa Terezinha´s Church, Bragança, where you can see the face of Christ in the darkness, as showed in the picture.

In October 1996, Sérgio Prata coalesced emulsified beeswax and phosphorescent pigments and created a new spot, very robust, which allowed him to paint in total darkness, the face of the Holy Shroud, on the back of the Pantocrator, the apse of the church Santa Terezinha in Bragança Paulista, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

With the phosphorescent encaustic made his first works biphasic (Exhibition Contrasts and phosphorescences), where we appreciate a painting in the light of day and the other in the dark. After some more research, Silver developed the technical phase, creating works that have three different paintings that can be seen in daylight, under ultraviolet light and in total darkness after a light charge.

At the same time, Prata worked on 2 phases paintings, and his show at a Curitiba Art Gallery was succesfull. 

THE 3 PHASES ART WORKS

The 3 phases art works are a new procedure of painting I invented. It was hard to creat it...the materials teached me how to work with them. Each one has his own reasons and limits. I work in the darkness, and manipulate my own materials under ultraviolet lights.
