CHURCHES
The Saint Thereses and Saint Josephs Church was painted by Sérgio Prata, ordered by the Priest Sebastião Dantas and the Bishop Dom Bruno Gamberini. The first work (apse) was inaugurated during the 1996s Christmas celebration; the Pantocrator Christ blessing, besided by the two patrons of the church. The church in the begining of the art works, december 1996. |
The artist used the beeswax technic of painting, gilding with gold leaves and phosphorescent pigments. He created a painting that can be observed by day and also by night, even without the lights clearing the interior of the church. We can see upon the plexus of the Pantocrator Christ, The Holy Face of the Saint Suaire, self iluminated by the power of the phosphorescent pigments.
In this mural, we can see also the four evangelists represented by the winged man, winged bull, winged lion and by the eagle.
